Natural Acne Treatments

The Western diet contains highly processed and refined food. The Anti Acne Diet is a higher protein-low GI diet containing more natural foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, lean red meat, seafood and wholegrains, with processed food and takeaway kept to a minimum.

Anti Acne Diet

One of the most important aspects of an acne-free diet is choosing the right fats. Many experts recommend olive oil for cooking as well as for your salads. The alternative, usually saturated fats and partially hydrogenated fats, can damage your body’s tissues as ell as promote the inflammation around the hair follicle.

You’ll also want to reduce your consumption of red meats and butter. Here again partially hydrogenated fats need to be avoided. These types of fats, according to some experts, actually replace the unsaturated fats in the cells.

Zia Natural Acne KitAlong with this, then, you’ll want to eliminate, as much as possible, packaged snack foods, such as potato and corn chips, crackers and cookies. Now is the time for you to become a vigilant consumer and read the labels on all foods you buy. Most packaged foods contain some level of partially hydrogenated fats. You’ll also want to stop using margarine.

Your acne-free diet should also include plenty of salmon and flax seeds. If you can’t add the food itself to your list of meals, then at least supplement your dietary regimen with fish oil supplements. These foods have plenty of omega-3 fatty acids.

I have tried the following home pimples remedies which worked well for me:

    - Reduce intake of meals that contains carbohydrates having a high GI (glycemic index).
    - Fresh fenugreek paste produced from its leaves.
    - A few drops of lime or fresh lemon juice mixed into one third of a normal cup of water.
    - Cucumber pulp placed onto the affected region for 15-20 minutes daily.

  2. The phrase that you are what you eat seems to be very true, especailly in the case of how these foods affect your skin. I am a psoriasis sufferer and find that certain food will help clear an outbreak, wheras others will trigger or prolong one. The problem with acne (which i have also suffered from in the past) is that it can also be triggered by hormones or stress, so diet alone may not fully cure the problem.
