Unless you’re dead, I’m sure you’ve seen the Axe commercials by now. You know the one where the Man of Chocolate is being eaten alive as he walks down the street? Tons of sexual innuendo–so much so that Indian authorities felt the ad was pornographic and banned it from television. Well, I was oblivious until recently when I was Axed in an elevator. The results were throbbing temples, one sinus cavity running like a faucet, and the other refusing oxygen in sympathy. Guys, let me show you what I think is really hot and sexy.

. . . and by better you know I mean natural. I don’t know what I was thinking about when I gave you those shaving recipes. No man is going to mix and measure all that stuff. You might get your wife or girlfriend to do it for a birthday or special occasion, but left to your own devices you’ll be splashing chemicals everywhere. We just can’t have that. Let me give you some great ready made natural skin care choices.

In another post I mentioned steaming your skin with chamomile tea. That’s because chamomile has a soothing effect on the skin. So isn’t it great that Scoop has put chamomile in their shaving cream, pardon me, shaving souffle. Besides chamomile it has shea butter, jojoba, cocoa butter, sage and almond oil. The razor will glide across your skin.

The Art of Shaving has a wide selection of natural shaving products for men. Their use of peppermint essential oils is really refreshing. In addition to chamomile’s anti inflammatory properties, this facial wash has green tea which is an anti-oxidant.

My ex always had problems with ingrown hairs. I never told him about this stuff, and that’s why he’s my ex. Lucky you won’t have to suffer with ingrown hairs because I’m telling you about Ingrown Hair Night Cream. White willow bark and meadowsweet extract are excellent for inflammation. Check the ingredients for yourself. Lots of herbs and essential oils. You’ll find that many of their products are not only natural, but organic as well.

Nail Salon As Man Cave?!

A recent experience at the nail salon has made me a little uncomfortable. Here’s what happened. I was getting a manicure and this young guy came in. I thought he must be there to pick up his girlfriend, but he was there to get his nails done too.

There was another guy there who was actually waiting on his girlfriend. The two of them struck up a conversation. Male bonding in the nail shop—so millennial. The guy getting his nails done didn’t seem self conscious at all. The whole scenario seemed cute at first, but after some reflection it’s got me worried.

Natural Skin Care: Shaving

I haven’t forgotten about the guys. After all, men have skin too— :) I couldn’t even pronounce the ingredients in the average can of shaving cream or aftershave. Lots of toxins and unpronounceable chemicals. These recipes smell good and are easy on the face—or whatever you want to shave.
