Stress can show up in any part of the body–even in our feet. Our feet are in need of some major pampering especially during the cold dry winter months. Pampering your feet can actually help you remove toxins from the body, and give your feet the attention they so much deserve. These foot scrubs are made of things most of us have in the kitchen cupboard.
CoCoa Mint Food Scrub
The peppermint in this scrub will energize tired feet and the cocoa butter leaves them super soft.
2 tbsp grated cocoa butter
2 tbsp almond old
1/2 cup raw sugar
4-5 drops peppermint essential oil
Gently heat cocoa butter and almond oil until melted, stir well.
Mix in sugar and peppermint oil
Massage into clean feet and rise with warm water. If your feet are extremely dry, massage in a bit more cocoa butter and cover your feet with clean cotton socks for 15-20 minutes
Honey is used as an ingredient in each of the following steps. Be sure to look for honey that is locally produced and organic. (If you are vegan, you can leave out the honey or go for some organic agave nectar.)
All Natural Detox
2 bags of black tea (look for fair-trade brands in stores)
Teaspoon of honey
Teaspoon of lemon
Bucket of warm/hot water
Soak your feet in the mixture for at least ten minutes. Be sure to use a pumice stone to remove dead skin. Proceed to the next step.
Foot Scrub
½ cup of Hawaiian sea salt (or any sea salt will do)
Teaspoon of honey
Three tablespoons of coconut oil (or any oil)
After combining these ingredients, massage onto your feet, paying extra attention to achy spots. While you’re at it, massage into your hands as well. Rinse off with warm water.
Moisturizing Salve
1 tbsp or two of honey (raw is better)
1 tbsp or two of coconut oil (sweet almond oil is a good substitute)
Stir together the above ingredients in a bowl. Place the bowl in a larger vat of warm water to heat the honey/oil mixture as you detox and scrub. Slather onto your feet and read a magazine for 10-15 minutes. You can wrap those puppies up in saran wrap or old socks for an extra touch. When the time is up, rinse off thoroughly with warm water and your favorite gentle organic soap.
Moisturize those tired feet with shea butter and slip into some fuzzy slippers. Enjoy!

My feel burn at night and I heard cocoa butter was used to help relieve this feeling. Is it true?
These are some great recipes. Peppermint is my favorite for helping invigorate tired sore feet. The cocoa butter is good to moisturize the skin too.
I actually have a salt product that has peppermint and tea tree in it to scrub the feet. I like to incorporate tea tree to prevent foot fungus. It’s time we get our feet looking sexy for the summer!

Great recipes! I’m definitely going to have to give the CoCoa Mint Foot scrub a try! I’m sure it smells yummy! :)
My favorite super simple hand and foot scrub is made of just coconut oil and baking soda.
I mix 2 Tablespoons of coconut oil with 1 Tablespoon of baking soda and massage onto my feet for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water.
Leaving my feet slightly damp, I then slather on a layer of coconut oil and put on a pair of clean cotton socks or a pair of moisturizing socks.
This scrub leaves my hands and feet feeling silky smooth!
